Entries to Competitons abroad
BWF/BE SANCTIONED COMPETITIONS
Updated 25.6.2024
For all international competitions (except championships, where the team is selected in advance), entry must be made via the Suomisport event entry form. The entrant must have a valid license for the date of the competition. If Suomisport does not have a competition you wish to enter, please send a message with the details of the competition in good time to kilpailut@sulkapallo.fi. Remember that registration for the competition in Finland closes one week before the Entry Deadline in the BWF entry system and calendar.
Adult players/Competitions: Players who are eligible under the rules to enter adult BWF/BE sanctioned competitions: the BE Circuit, Future Series, International Series and International Challenge levels, will follow the BE Circuit Regulations or the BWF Competition Regulations unless otherwise instructed by the BE. Also BWF all levels but invitational competitions for TOP players.
Junior players/competitions: Entries also in Suomisport. BE Junior Circuit, levels Junior Future Series, Junior International Series, Junior International Challenge and Junior International Grand Prix.
BWF/BE sanctioned competitions and entries are subject to the BWF and BE General Competition Regulations (GCR) and BE Circuit Regulations. It is agreed that Finnish players will enter all competitions at least one week before the actual entry deadline, as the entry deadline is the first date that affects the participant's liability to pay under the BE Circuit Regulations (all BE Circuit competitions [Adult, U19 and U17 Circuit]). In doing so, we have a one-week contingency period for exceptional circumstances.
Withdrawal from the competition
In all the above mentioned competitions, the withdrawal period without paying the entry fee will end on the Entry Deadline date, i.e. until that date you can withdraw from the competition without paying the entry fee.
- Withdrawal after the Entry Deadline but before the Withdrawal Deadline does not remove the obligation to pay the entry fee once a player has been accepted to a qualifying or main competition.
- In addition to the entry fee, withdrawal after the Withdrawal Deadline will result in a BWF Late Withdrawal Fee, depending on the level of competition, of between 150 and 250 USD.
Withdrawals must always be informed as early as possible by email to kilpailut@sulkapallo.fi, never directly to the competition organizer in BFW/BE sanctioned competition when entries are made by Badminton Finland. The Badminton Finland competition support will then take care of the withdrawal and/or notification to the competition organizer.
In competitions for which Badminton Finland make entries, results andranking points will be entered to ranking system by Badminton Finland without any special request.
Costs
As general, all costs for BWF/BE sanctioned competitions are the responsibility of the player. For "prestigious" competitions (European Championships and World Championships), the Badminton Finland makes the decisions on a competition-by-competition basis.
Other competitions abroad
Entries to other, bascily foreign national competitions, are made by the player or a group directly to the organizer. Competition fees must also be paid by the player as requested by the organiser as like all other costs. If a player also wishes to have the results of these competitions abroad entered in the Finnish ranking system, a link to the results of the competition must be sent to kilpailut@sulkapallo.fi
